ZBE Chromira Printers Earn DIMA Awards
in Both Wide-format Photo

March 14, 2003 - Carpinteria, CA, USA – ZBE, Incorporated’s
Chromira printers received top honors at DIMA’s 8th
Annual Digital Printer Shoot-Out at the PMA Convention in Las Vegas,
Nevada. The Chromiras won in both wide-format photo printer categories
(30" - 49" and 50" or wider).
"We were very excited to win the DIMA awards. We do our best to
deliver great products and it is an honor for that effort to be recognized
by our peers in the photo industry," said Zac Bogart, President
of ZBE. The Chromira 30 printed the winning image in the 30" –
49" photo printer category, while the Chromira 50 produced the
top image for the 50" and wider category. Also recognized were
Fuji Crystal Archive paper and the ChromiraRIP, produced by Wasatch,
as both were utilized in the print creation process.
The Chromira 30 and Chromira 50 printers are affordable, state-of-the-art
digital imaging systems that produce high resolution, continuous photographic
prints. The Chromira printing system applies ZBE’s highly efficient
on-the-fly imaging methodology, which images on photographic media while
simultaneously processing the digital image data. This proprietary system
produces Chromira’s extraordinary on-the-fly workflow productivity.
The Chromira prints were two out of 138 prints from 37 companies submitted
for this year’s DIMA Digital Printer Shoot-Out, which made the
competition the largest yet. All entries were produced from files created
by Photomation Commercial Imaging & Graphics in Anaheim, CA, USA.
Participants were asked to provide specification information pertaining
to the equipment used (printer, RIP); the consumables used (output media,
ink/toner/dye); and the production timing. Trade attendees of the PMA
2003 Convention and Trade Show voted upon the entries based on overall
quality of the digital print and the accuracy of the color as compared
to the "target" print.
