STARLITE 55 INITIAL ALIGNMENT, STEP BY STEP

 

 

PROCEDURE TO SET UP STARLITE WITHOUT A VCNA

Note: This Procedure assumes the customer has difficulty setting up and will commence by Deleting any figures deliberately stored or stored in error.

Commence by deleting any erroneous figures which may be stored.

  1. Switch On the Starlite and wait for the self checking procedure to terminate (approximately 10 Seconds).
  2. Press the MENU key
  3. Press the #7 key
  4. Press ENTER key
  5. Press the #7 key
  6. Observe the display and note the arrow points to Master Reset
  7. Press ENTER key
  8. Observe the display indicating everything will be erased
  9. Press ENTER key
  10. Observe display which now reads ZBE, Inc
  11. Switch Off Starlite using Mains On/Off switch. This clears all memories of any erroneous data.
  12. Switch on Starlite
  13. Observe display which indicates the memory has been cleared.
  14. Press ENTER key
  15. Observe display which indicates the Starlite has a new EPROM
  16. Press ENTER Key
  17. The Starlite now calibrates the internal Sensor which takes approximately 8 Seconds.
  18. Observe display which now shows standard default format.
  19. Set the enlarger approximately 1/3rd up the column and size and focus image of a 'Shirley Girl' reference negative.
  20. Press MAGENTA key
  21. Press #2 and #0 keys
  22. Press ENTER key
  23. Notice the exposing lamp will switch On and color will be inserted
  24. Press YELLOW key
  25. Press #5 & #0 keys
  26. Press ENTER key
  27. Observe exposing light is switched On and color inserted.
  28. Press TIME key
  29. Press #5 & #0 Keys
  30. Press ENTER key
  31. Observe 5 Seconds has been entered as the exposure time.
  32. Disregard any figure appearing beside the D: (Density)
  33. Stop down the enlarging lens to f11
  34. Switch Off the darkroom lights and make an exposure. Process this test print on the most commonly used photographic paper in the darkroom. This will later be used as a reference for other paper emulsions.
  35. Continue making test prints until you are completely satisfied the test print cannot be improved.
  36. Note: Figures used by Video analyzers can vary. The figures used below are typical but may be different in your case. Use the appropriate figures for your lab. For the purposes of this Procedure we will use the following figures:

Density = 64 / Cyan = 0 / Magenta = 30 / Yellow = 30

  1. Press Menu key
  2. Press #6 key
  3. Press ENTER key
  4. Press #2 key
  5. Press ENTER key
  6. Press #6 & #4 keys
  7. Press LAMP key if the Density reading shows a minus sign
  8. Press ENTER key
  9. Press ENTER key (This moves the cursor from Cyan to Magenta)
  10. Press #3 & #0 keys
  11. Press ENTER key
  12. Press #3 & #0 keys
  13. Press ENTER key
  14. Now calibrate the Density Probe
  15. Press ENTER key
  16. Remove negative from carrier and replace carrier
  17. Press ENTER key
  18. After a few seconds the Exposing light will be extinguished and the Calibration procedure is completed. Note: Ideally this procedure will only need to be completed once. Any future adjustments will be made elsewhere according to your printing requirements.
