Chromira 5x ProLab
“ENSP consists of three Schools and thus, we require printing for different needs: for black and white fine-art, for traditional color prints, and for our Numeric Lab. For this, we have inkjet professional printers, Color 4”x5” and 8”x10” enlargers, one horizontal 8”x10” enlarger, and an Omnia RA4 140 cm paper processor. The Chromira ProLab doesn’t replace any of these machines, but it does give us new perspectives, and has resulted in a decreased use of the other machines.
We want to give our students the best options for printing their works and that’s why we decided to buy the ProLab. Inkjet prints are too expensive and their printers, too slow. In comparison to laser printers, ProLab had the lowest maintenance costs, space requirements, and ecological impact. In comparison with inkjet printers, it has better print quality, it’s easy to drive, has rapid access to prints, and lower production costs. Also, the software and hardware are so well integrated with each other, and integrates very well into our dual Mac/PC network. The biggest surprise for us was just how productive and easy to handle it is.”
